The nominations for the 2015 Turner Prize have been announced and as usual it's going to divide opinion. I've been to some of the exhibits in the past and on the whole believe it to be a load of 'artybollox'. This year is no exception, in my opinion.
"Nicole Wermers’s comment on consumerism’s obsession with surfaces, which sews fur coats onto classic modernist furniture, feels at once conventional and the work here most likely to wind up the “it’s not art brigade” simply because it sounds so silly." I am firmly in the 'it's not art brigade', frankly I think it's tedious and immature, but that maybe because I'm not 'obsessed with surfaces' and pretty sure I don't know anyone who is. However if you are then the exhibition runs from Oct 2015 - Jan 2016 at The Tate Modern in London.
