The Press Release for the new book by Pete went out today!  It's a humorous recount of life as a child in the 70s, the government safety adverts, the glam rock years and so much more.

Dale Chihuly Exhibition in London

Dale Chihuly has an exhibition - Beyond The Object -  at the Halcyon Gallery in Bond Street running until the 18th May 2014.  His glass installations, shown in 200 museums worldwide -  one is permanently displayed in London's V & A, are beautiful, very large and dramatic.

Artists 'have structurally different brains'

Interesting article appeared on the BBC website in which a study claimed that artists have 'structurally different brains to others'. One of the authors of the paper from UCL said it was difficult to distinguish what aspect of artistic talent was innate or learnt. Read more here

Matisse Cut Outs

In his late sixties, when ill health first prevented Matisse from painting, he began to cut into painted paper with scissors to make drafts for a number of commissions. In time, Matisse chose cut-outs over painting: he had invented a new medium.

Spaghetti Harvest 1957

Does anyone else remember this offering from BBC Panorama 1957?  In the days when pasta wasn't a pantry staple and people hadn't travelled and experienced food from overseas, this 3 minute documentary featured a Swiss family apparently harvesting their 'spaghetti tree'.
